EDUCATOR & STORYTELLER

I have been a teacher for most of my adult life.  Even before I started teaching in a public high school, I was a certified ski instructor and a youth soccer and lacrosse coach.  That's actually what led me to teaching.  I got so much joy out of watching the "light come on" when I was able to help someone figure out a challenge they had been struggling with, and a fellow coach told me "that's basically what teaching is."

Well, working with clients gives me that same joy!  Being able to help a client turn their project into exactly what they need is a special kind of joy that I want to experience as much and as often as I can.

Finding ways to get students to engage with material that they might otherwise ignore (or actively avoid, in some cases) forces me to stretch myself every day to analyze not just the material, but my audience as well.  Students -- especially high school students -- will tune out immediately if they think you are either boring or disingenuous, so I have to bring passion for my material and for my learners to everything I do.

That also means I am very experienced at bringing that ability to observe and interact with a room full of as many as 35-40 different individuals, connect with them, and engage their interest even as I work to meet each of their needs.  At the end of the day, teaching is just a more advanced form of storytelling.  Let me bring that to your project and help you tell your story!

Essentially, I have 20+ years of experience analyzing the nuances of concepts and figuring out how to make them relatable, in order to connect with a diverse, ever-changing audience.  Who better to keep your commercial, corporate, and e-learning audience locked in and focused on your message?

But hey, don't take my word for it.  Hear it from some of my kids!

Former Student Testimonials

“There has never been a class that I have found as applicable to the outside world as your English class, and I cannot express how much I learned about myself between both this class and Creative Writing 2.”
